Definition of Common Genetic Traits Type in Humans:

Alleles
We get our physical traits from our mother and father. Two or more variations of genes are called alleles.

Dominant traits
Traits that get expressed even in the presence of one copy different variant of the same type of allele.

Recessive traits
Traits that only get expressed when two copies same variant of an allele are present in a gene.

Co-dominance
Both dominant and recessive allele expresses themselves in an individual. Classic example would be our blood group.

Incomplete Dominance
Dominant and recessive alleles blend in and form a particular phenotype. Results an intermediate between the two alleles.
Explanation: Cross between straight hair genes (homogeneous, SS) and curly hair genes (homogeneous, ss) can result in wavy hair (heterogeneous, Ss).
Example,

• Wavy Hair
• Medium nose
• Medium-sized eyes

Polygenic traits
Condition of features that are expressions by more than just one gene. More than two variations of any subjected character.
Example,

• Body Shape
• Eye colour - Dark brown eyes are dominant over blue and grey eyes
• Hair colour
• Height - dwarfism is dominant over tall stature
• Skin colour - Dark skin is dominant over lighter skin

Sex-linked Traits
1. X-linked Recessive Traits
Male child has one copy of X chromosome. Comes from the mother.
Examples, 

• Colour blindness
• Duchenne muscular dystrophy syndrome
• Hemophilia A and B
• Hunter syndrome
• Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome

2. X-linked Dominant Traits
Present on the X chromosome. Inherited from the father. Female child carriers the dominant allele. A male child of the same mother will inherit the trait.
Examples, 

• Coffin-Lowry syndrome
• Rett syndrome
• Vitamin D resistant rickets

3. Y-linked Inheritance
Present on the Y chromosome. Inherited only by a male child. Females don't have Y chromosomes, duh!

What's The Difference Between A Million and A Billion? And, A Trillion

If you, like me, get hard times understanding something so inconceivably large like million or the next one, billion, I have gotten a way to understand how big they each are.

Instead of counting them as just number or amount of money the rich have in the Swiss bank, let's consider many days we can get if we consider the said amount of seconds. 

1 million= 11.5 Days
Yes, a million number of seconds give us 11 days and a half. And a billion?

1 billion= 31.7 Years
Yep! it is counted in years. A billion gives us over 31 years of time.

Can you understand how big these two numbers are?

Bonus one,
1 Trillion= 31,709.8 Years!!

I don't even understand this one in years.

Existence Concise.

Photons have no mass. Allow them to travel at light speed, as everyone knows.

Traveling from billion light years distant quasar to us at light speed takes about the same 'time' to cover as it takes us to touch our nose. But for Photons, it takes roughly no time. This long distance is just like no distance at all for them. Because it takes NO TIME for them.

Photons bring Energies to us from Sun. Data from far outer space. Despite a list of accomplishments, they don't have Time to think for or about themselves. Only an observer can observe them. They can't. as their existence covers NO TIME DURATION. For their concern, THEY SIMPLY DON'T EXIST.

Science is closing to wisdom.

নমরূদ, ফেরাউনের বংশ... টাইরেন্টদের অনন্ত ধারা।

নমরূদের শাসনামলে নিজের বানোয়াট খোদায়ীর ভাবে মজার জন্য সে রাজ্যের সবার স্থাবর-অস্থাবর সব সম্পত্তির মালিক বানিয়েছিল নিজেকে। এখনকার দিনের জন্য বলতে গেলে, অনেকটা এমন ছিল যে আমার বাপ যদি আমাকে তাঁর সামান্য পুরান কোনো ঘড়িও দিতে চায়, তাহলে সেটা আগে নমরূদের রাজকোষ থেকে নিয়ে আনা লাগতো, রাজ্যের যা কিছু ছিল সে একলা নিজে ভোগ করত। আইনের বলে রাজ্যের সব সন্তানের মালিকও সে নিজে ছিল। জন্মের পর ওদের ভাগ্য কি হবে সেটা তো পরের কথা, সন্তানের জন্ম হবে কিনা সেটাও নমরূদের বাহিনী ঠিক করে দিতো।

ফেরাউন বংশের শাসনামলে নিজের রাজত্বকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখার জন্য তারা গাদা খানিক আইন বানিয়েছিল। অবস্থা এমন করেছিল যে ধরুন, রাস্তা দিয়ে হেটে বাসায় যাচ্ছেন, রাস্তায় নিজেরই ছোট ভাইয়ের সাথে দেখা, ওকে ডাক দিলেন, ভাবলেন ডেকে বলবেন বাসায় আসার পথে কিছু একটা আনতে, রাজার আইনের কারনে দেখতে পাবেন আপনার ভাই আপনার সামনে আসার আগেই রাজার দুই পাইক বা পেয়ারাদার কোন কোণা থেকে আপনাদের মাঝখানে দাড়িয়ে গেছে। কোথাও কোন দুইজন মানুষকেও কথা বলতে দেখলে ফেরাউনের 'র' বাহিনীর লোক এসে হাজির হত, আপনি যা বলছেন সবকিছু রেকর্ড করা হত, আপনি বিবাহিত? আপনি অসুস্থ? আপনি বৃদ্ধ? আপনার ঘরের দরজায় ওরা নক করে কোনদিনও ধুকবে না। রাস্তাঘাটে ঘুরে বেড়ানো এই চেংরার দলকে ফেরাউন ফিল্ড অফ মার্শালের মত লাইসেন্স টু কিল করার আদেশ দিয়ে রেখেছিল।

এতকিছুর পরও ওদের জীবনের শেষটা কি করে হয়েছিল জানেন? একজনে শেষ হয়েছিল মশার একটা অতি সাধারন একটা মুভ আর ওর নিজেরই জুতার বাড়ি আর পুরা দেশের সামনে ইতিহাসের সবচেয়ে অপমানজনক পরিস্থিতিতে মরন হয়েছিল। আরেকজনকে তো এখনো আধামরা শুটকি অবস্থায় বানিয়ে রেখে দেয়া হয়েছে। পুরা দুনিয়া এখন এককালের এই বিশাল পতিপত্তির বাদশার আধা পচা লাশকে নিয়ে ভয়ানক ব্যাকগ্রাউন্ড সাউন্ড দিয়ে ইউটিউব ভিডিও বানাচ্ছে। 

তো? এতদিনের এত আয়োজন, এত দিনের রাজত্ব করে এদের পরিনতি কি হল শেষ পর্যন্ত?

ব্যাপার হচ্ছে, "সব সূত্রেরই ব্যতিক্রম সূত্র থাকে, এটাই সূত্রের একমাত্র সূত্র।" ইতিহাস এই সূত্রেরও উপরতালায় বাস করে। ইতিহাস কোনো ব্যতিক্রম ছাড়াই বারবার নিজেকে রিপিট করে, বারবার, বারবার...

User Experience (UX) vs Customer Experience (CX): What are The Differences?

From what I understand,
User Experience (UX):
- Deals with people interacting with the product
- Experience customers receive from their interaction.

UX is measured by,

• Success rate, 
• Error rate, 
• Abandonment rate, 
• Time to complete the task, 
• Number of clicks to complete that task.

Customer Experience (CX):

- Encompasses all the interactions a person has with the brand.

CX is measured by,

• Overall experience, 
• Likelihood to continue use, 
• Likelihood to recommend to others. 

In short,


UX is part of a broader CX. 
And, CX contains some aspects outside of a product that UX does not.

I.e. = Originates from the Latin "Id Est" meaning "that is to say". It is used when someone wants to add explanatory information to state something in different words.

E.g. = Originates from Latin "Exempli Gratia", meaning "for example".

FB Floriography Post Series: 04 + 03

Flowers have held symbolic meanings for centuries. Especially in religions. #Floriography took off in Europe and America during the #VictorianPeriod.

I have a bunch of books in my collection. Personal fav is Louise Cortambert's books. #HAK7

Victorian era is known for being particularly repressed. Novels of the time were obsessed with romance. The real-life romance was restricted. Especially in the upper and middle classes. Rules around male and female interaction were strict, very formal. #HAK7

Nosegays, small hand-held bunches of flowers were popular. Women would hold them in front of their faces. Helped blocking out the smells from the streets. Inevitably, nosegays became the front lines for romance. Men gifted their intended sweetheart bunches of flowers conveying complex, detailed meanings. Not only did the individual flowers hold meaning but the way they were arranged together could also tell a whole story. Convey a deeper meaning.

Women could then indicate their acceptance of the message by holding the nosegay to their chest. Or reject it by holding it pointing downwards. Did you think modern dating was hard?

These days if we fancy someone we generally just grind up against them in a club or swipe right. #HAK7

If we’re being especially classy, we buy them a drink. But think back to the Victorian era, when you were barely allowed to look at your crush without a matron aunt breathing down your neck.

Back then, people had to get creative. Thus, the ‘secret’ language of flowers was born. But it is a wee bit tricky one. Like:

• A #RedCarnation would signify Love

• But a #StripedCarnation was as good as Dumping someone.

And these days,

• We associate #WhiteLilies with Mourning. 

• back then, an #OrangeLily signified Hatred. NOT the message you want to pass on at a Funeral.
