How to Prepare for Any Interviews

Hygiene check:

  1. Check hair-bread length
  2. Dress appropriately
  3. Check the internet connection, AC if possible, no cats
  4. Prepare a PPT

Homework: Audit the company like a vendor, because:

Employer: vendor of income 
Employee: client, whether the company is worth the time and skills 

  1. Step 1: LinkedIn: employee tenure, recruitment pattern, job posting
  2. Step 2: Glassdoor review, SoMe reviews
  3. Step 3: SEC file, financial report, anything in the public domain 

Questions:

Meeting 2:

  1. Question 1: New headcount or backfill?
  2. Question 2: How many people have held these positions in the last 3 years?
    - Was the role scoped properly?
    - How are the management practices?
    - Expectation parallels the compensation?
    Reply: Need to know before committing to the next lead in this role.
  3. Question 3: Where do I see myself in the next 5years?
    Reply: Depends on the proportion of velocity.
    - Lateral move is not a promotion.
    - Can you walk me through the last 3 headcounts that promoted in the team
    - Can you walk me through the Compensation, Scope, and Level
  4. Question 4:
    - On-call rotation frequency
    - Deploy ownership
  5. Question 5: Reporting line manager 
  6. Question 6: Leadership-communication culture 
  7. Question 7: Project incidents and how they were handled. 
  8. Question 8: Growth, monthly sales, financial plans.
